Middle School English/Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher

Leslie Joyce is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a concentration in English. She also received Alternative Certification from Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans. Leslie is certified in Elementary grades lst-5th and English/Language Arts (ELA) grades 6th-12th. Leslie brings twelve years of teaching experience ranging in 2nd – 5th grade, teaching at Stuart Hall School, Ursuline Academy, Christ Episcopal and St. Matthew the Apostle School. Leslie Joyce specializes in implementing focus lessons, using small group instruction, student conferencing and technology to enhance students’ conceptual understanding. Leslie also enjoys teaching by utilizing a project-based learning approach to help students develop an understanding and application for the concepts.  

Wanda Muhs

Wanda Muhs graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Journalism, then Spring Hill College with a Master of Arts in Teaching. She is certified in Elementary Education for Kindergarten through 6th grade. Wanda has 22 years of experience teaching first, second, and third grades in both North Carolina and Louisiana. She taught for 9 years at Isidore Newman School before moving to the North Shore.  

 

Chrissy Gates

Chrissy Gates earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University as well as an Alternative Certification in Early Childhood Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  She has served as a TAP Master Teacher, Reading Interventionist, and Instructional Coach as well as classroom teacher in kindergarten, first and third grades.  Chrissy has 13 years of teaching and leadership experience in education.
