Weekly News

Weekly News January 27, 2020     School Events Calendar

When students graduate from Cedarwood,  we frequently hear from high school administrators and community members how well our students present themselves, speaking with such confidence, poise, and articulation.  This is no coincidence!  Public speaking begins in PreK 4 here at Cedarwood School.  Preschool students have an opportunity to present and share a letter of the week.  Children are encouraged to express their thoughts and ideas with excitement to their peers.  In first grade, students research, write and present three times throughout the year about various topics.  As students move on to 2nd  grade, 3rd  grade and middle school these presentation skills continue to be developed and fine-tuned through reports, group presentation projects, video presentations and more.  Offering children many opportunities to practice these important skills allows them to communicate effectively and confidently. Middle school students achieve regional and state awards for their presentations at the Social Studies Fairs. This is just one of the numerous ways that Cedarwood provides our students with a foundation for life!
